Mena Alexandera Suvari is an American model, actress and designer. Her birth date was 13 February 1979. After a brief period as a model in the fashion industry and then a transition to acting, appearing as guest stars on TV shows such as Boy Meets World in the 1990s, and High Incident. She had her first film role in the 1997 drama Nowhere. Her performances in American Beauty, for which she won an BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie brought her to broader attention. She was in the film industry for a year, and was with her American Pie co star Jason Biggs. Then, she played the main role on the film Sugar & Spice (2000). The film also featured her in the 2002 acclaimed independent drama Spun as well as the 2004 action feature Trauma. Also, she appeared on drama series on HBO Six Feet Under in 2004 the show was awarded a nomination for an Outstanding Cast in the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, Suvari was part of several films including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the film adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari appeared in fashion-related blogs as well as in magazines, such Vogue and Lancome Paris Adaptive print ads. She is a long-time campaigner for and a supporter of the esteemed African relief organisation, known as the African Medical and Research Foundation. Also, she is involved in issues of female empowerment and collaborates with various organizations to help raise awareness about breast cancer as well as the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
